The holidays are just around the corner and this week we’re bringing you some holiday décor ideas inspired by Moore Farms Botanical Garden. This season, consider turning unassuming evergreens and luxurious grasses into beautiful decorations for your home.
Senior Horticulturist Katie Dickson says she loves to incorporate live arrangements for not only their looks, but also the festive aroma. “They also last a long time if you switch the water every few days,” she recommends.
Both wreaths and garlands can be used when they are fresh and preserved through drying. Education and Events Manager Rebecca Turk advises to be patient during the drying process. “There will be an awkward transition phase,” she says. “But once the wreath or garland is dry, you can use it for several years.”
Keep an eye out for our craft based classes so you’ll always have fresh inspiration for decorations around your house. At Moore Farms, we love celebrating the diversity of horticulture in the plants present in the garden as well as the many uses for plants. Let us know what some of your recent crafts projects are for a chance to be featured on our social media accounts! Have a wonderful holiday season!
