Bulbapalooza: March 24th is Bulbapalooza at Moore Farms! Horticulturists Scott Ogden and Lauren Springer Ogden will lecture about “Garden Bulbs for the South” from 10:30am-12pm and “Gardening for Sensuality” 1:30-3pm. You’ll also be able to stroll through an exquisite spring display that includes daffodils, alliums, anemones, tulips and more. Each lecture costs $15 to attend and includes admission and exploration of the grounds. Proceeds are donated to the Friends of the Revolutionary Rivers. Come out to enjoy a gorgeous spring day with us!
Eggstravaganza: Over 8000 eggs are just waiting to be discovered at Eggstravaganza! Children will explore the garden hunting eggs and treasures along the way. One lucky child will even go home with the prized golden egg. Show up early for photos with the Easter bunny, games, crafts and face painting making it fun for the whole family! Egg hunts will start at 11:00 am for ages 2-4 and 11:30 am for ages 5 & up. This event is FREE for the public. We can’t wait to help you celebrate Easter this year!
Moore Farms Wine Stroll: Stroll through the garden with a wine glass in hand at the Moore Farms Wine Stroll, Saturday, April 14th from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at Moore Farms Botanical Garden. Ignite your taste buds with over 60 different wine selections plus food from local vendors. This merriment will occur while listening to tunes from a local jazz band and wandering our incredible 65-acre botanical garden. Even better, all ticket proceeds will be donated to the Lake City Junior Sorosis Club so eat, sip and stroll with us April 14th. We’ll see you in the garden!
May Days: May Days is on May 18th-19th and will include self-guided exploration of the garden, a plant sale, and a special opportunity to learn from Bill Thomas of Chanticleer during a lecture each day. The lecture will begin at 10:30am and only costs $20 per person. If you’re busy Friday, we’ve got you covered—Bill will be presenting on both days so no one will miss out!
Films at the Farm: Join us for a brand new event at the garden this summer! Films at the Farm is an outdoor movie night to provide summer fun for the whole family on the first official day of summer—June 21st. You’ll have the opportunity to stroll the garden as dusk settles in and get comfortable on a blanket to enjoy the movie. Admission is FREE for all families and we will have popcorn and drinks available for purchase with cash. The garden will open at 7pm for families to enjoy the garden before the movie begins at 8pm.
MFBG Beer Fest: Cheers to the 5th annual MFBG Beer Fest from 1:00 to 5:00 pm on Saturday, September 8th at Moore Farms Botanical Garden. VIP ticket holders get access for a sneak peek and first taste at noon so don’t miss out! Enjoy beers from over 35 local and regional craft breweries and devour delicious local food truck eats. With your tasting glass in hand you’ll also experience the botanical garden as a festival backdrop like no other. Even better, all ticket proceeds will be donated to the Florence County Disabilities Association.
Sarracenia: This event, held on Saturday, October 6th, is one you won’t want to miss! Morning cocktails will kick off the event followed by tours of the garden, an inspired menu and silent auction. The elegant luncheon is sure to please the palette with each course showcasing products from local farms. Auction offerings will include unusual plants, hand-crafted artwork, ticket packages and more. This is a garden party luncheon like no other! Come enjoy the day with us while supporting the Lake City Meals on Wheels Program.
Bootanical: The BOOtanical Garden will come alive on Saturday, October 27th! Get the whole family together and put on your best costumes for an enchanted Halloween afternoon at Moore Farms Botanical Garden. Trick-or-treating through the garden, pumpkin bowling, spooky punch, crafts, carnivorous plants…there’s something fun for everyone! Experience the bewitchingly beautiful garden like never before, while the little ones enjoy a hauntingly good time. This family event is fun for all ages and open to the public from 2:00 to 5:00 PM
Dog Daze: Come have a dog-gone good time in the garden! Bring your pooch to take a nice stroll through the garden putting you both in a “dog daze”. A photographer will be on-site to take a picture of you and your pup for only $1. Delicious snacks will be available for humans for $1 each. Free treats, toys, and water stations will be available for the dogs. The event is from 10:30am to 2:30pm on Saturday, November 10th. Your pup will be bragging to other dogs for months about the barking good time they had!
