What makes a plant or a garden sexy? There’s no denying gardeners lust for certain plants; there’s something quite alluring behind all of that chlorophyll. Learn all about the attributes of sexy plants, and how to use them to spice up the garden.

Instructor: Dawn Stover is a Research Associate with the SFA Gardens in on the campus of Stpehen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. She earned a B.S. in Biology from West Texas A&M in 1996, and an M.S. in Agriculture from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1999. Her initial horticultural experience began at Treesearch Farms in Houston, TX. As a Research Associate with the SFA Gardens, Dawn currently the living plant collection, and is coordinates maintenance and production in the SFA Gardens greenhouse and nursery facilities. Dawn coordinates two annual plants sales that raise money for the SFA Gardens, in addition to coordinating student workers and volunteers. She lectures to a wide variety of gardening enthusiasts in the region, and on occasion writes for other garden related publications. As part of her research responsibilities, Dawn trials a wide range of herbaceous and woody plant materials and disseminates information within the horticulture industry as well as the gardening public. Dawn teaches seminars and coordinates conferences and other events at the SFA Gardens.
