What are your hours of operation and how do I arrange for a visit?

Is the garden open to the public?

There are several garden open days and classes each year when the public is invited to visit the gardens.  All other visitation is by appointment only.

What is the price of admission?

Our rates vary for different events. Please check our event calendar and visiting info.

How do I get to the garden?

Directions to Moore Farms Botanical Garden can be found here.

How do I get to Lake City from the garden?

Exit the garden and make a left turn onto New Zion Rd. (Note: New Zion Rd. changes to Morris St. after .2 miles). Travel 3.7 miles until reaching US 52. Turn left onto US 52 (S. Ron McNair Blvd.) and proceed .2 miles. Take the second right onto N. Main St. This will put you in close proximity to area attractions. It should take about 7-8 minutes by car to reach downtown Lake City.

How long does it take to see the gardens?

It all depends on your level of interest. People with a casual interest in gardening usually spend 1 ½ – 2 hours. More passionate gardeners should plan on taking more time.

Can I take photographs in the garden?

Yes, photographs are encouraged in designated areas. However, the main house is strictly off limits.

Can I bring my pets to the garden?

No, pets are not allowed on the property. However, support animals are welcome.

Do you sell plants?

We currently have a plant sale in the spring.  The plant sale is held during an open house event.

Is the garden accessible to people with disabilities?

Visitors access the garden on turf, gravel pathways and boardwalks. Much of the garden is accessible via wheelchair, but some areas, particularly the gravel in parking areas and some turf, may require assistance for wheelers manually operating their chairs. The ground is generally even, with slight elevation changes. If given prior notice, we can provide golf carts during tours or garden open days. There are four wheelchair accessible bathroom located in the Fire Tower Center.

Do you host private events such as weddings and parties?

No, we do not host private events such as weddings and parties.  However, the Fire Tower Center can be rented by businesses, professionals, garden clubs, and civic organizations for meetings and small events.

Are there bathroom facilities on site?

Yes, there are five bathrooms located in the Fire Tower Center on the east side of the garden and two in the Maintenance Facility (green roof).
